PREP x NSBE!
The Pre-Freshman Program in Engineering is Science (PREP) at Chicago State University is a pre-college program design to expose pre-college students to career opportunities in STEM. PREP has a 32 year history in educating and preparing students for college and careers in STEM.
National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Jr. is a national program designed to stimulate the interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The goal is to encourage pre-college students to attend college and pursue technical degrees. NSBE, Jr. program provides activities to help students discover firsthand how engineering and technology relate to the world around them and discover the excitement of academic excellence, leadership, technical development and teamwork.
Because of their same goals, PREP merged with NSBE, Jr. to achieve the goals in supporting, preparing, mentoring and encouraging students to seek opportunities in STEM. The partnership formed over 30 year ago to become PREP/NSBE, Jr. and together the team have “increased the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professional and positively impact the community.” PREP has fully embrace the NSBE Mission to become one with NSBE.
PREP/NSBE, Jr. Program at Chicago State University welcomes and appreciates all of the support and opportunities sponsored by the National Society of Black Engineers. Every year over our 30 year history, the PREP/NSBE, Jr. Program attended the NSBE National Conventions (except for one).
